The searches that are run in the sources listed above are sensitive searches, which means that they retrieve a very high proportion of references which are relevant to the work of the group. This sensitivity comes at a cost because it means that the searches also retrieve a fairly high proportion of irrelevant records. The search results are therefore screened, so that records which are not relevant to the scope of the group or records that are not randomised or quasi-randomised trials, are identified and discarded.
