for editors

Our editors provide knowledge, experience and mentoring within a particular speciality to both authors and the editorial base staff.  We attempt to recruit a range of editors to ensure adequate representation of the wide range of topics covered in the scope of Cochrane Vascular.

There is no financial payment, but expenses may be claimed under certain circumstances if agreed in advance.

Cochrane Vascular editors usually prepare and maintain one or more Cochrane Reviews and are also responsible for supporting the Co-ordinating Editors in editing Cochrane Reviews prepared by others, and in fostering the smooth running of the CRG.

Specific online training modules for editors are available.

Editors have three main roles:

  • provide editorial feedback on protocols, reviews and review updates, particularly around making sure the review is embedded in the appropriate clinical context;
  • mentoring and fostering Cochrane values; and
  • authoring and maintaining one or more Cochrane Reviews.

Editorship is traditionally by invitation of the Co-ordinating Editors, however we are occasionally open to external suggestions.  Please contact us if you feel you would like to be considered.
